Andrew Volstead

Biography

Andrew Volstead was born in 1859 and served as a U.S. Congressman, where he became widely known for his work on national legislation, including the Volstead Act, which reflected his belief in the need for moral clarity in public life. He sought to carry out his duties with a sense of principle and an eye toward the broader good.

His steadfast service is recalled with respect, and he rests now in Granite Falls City Cemetery, where his contributions to the nation’s civic life continue to be acknowledged with appreciation.
