Andrey Somov

Biography

Andrey Somov (1830–1909) was a dedicated educator who contributed to Russian intellectual life during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. As a teacher, he played a role in shaping the minds of his students during a transformative period in Russian education and society.

Somov's career spanned the latter half of the nineteenth century, a time of significant educational reform in Russia. His burial at Novodevichy Cemetery attests to the respect he earned through his professional contributions to Russian pedagogy.
