Biography

Angelo Campioni was a distinguished architect who made significant contributions to the built environment of the Russian Empire during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Born in 1790, he was part of the cosmopolitan community of architects and artists who shaped the architectural character of St. Petersburg and other Russian cities.

Campioni's architectural career spanned several decades of development and change in Russian neoclassical and later styles. He passed away in 1847 and was laid to rest in the Smolensky Lutheran Cemetery, a testament to his prominence in Russian architectural circles.
