Biography

Angustias de la Guerra Ord, born in 1815, belonged to one of Santa Barbara's founding families and devoted herself to preserving the cultural and spiritual life of the Mission and its people.

Her gracious hospitality and quiet leadership helped sustain community bonds, and she rests in Mission Santa Barbara Cemetery among other members of her family.
