Biography
Ann Carr was a preacher of considerable courage and conviction, serving her faith community during the late Georgian and Regency periods. Her choice to pursue a calling as a preacher demonstrated remarkable determination and spiritual commitment at a time when such roles were not readily available to women.
Carr's legacy is preserved near Woodhouse Cemetery Chapel, where monuments approximately ten metres north commemorate her life and ministry. Her example stands as a testament to the women who found ways to exercise spiritual leadership and serve their communities with dedication and faith.
