Ann Walker (1803–1854) oversaw her Lightcliffe lands with a thoughtful hand, using rental income and stewarding the estate to support the families who worked there.

Neighbors remembered her fairness and occasional support for parish needs, and her grave at Old St Matthew's Church marks the resting place of a landowner who valued community ties.
