Anna Bayerová
1853–1924 (age 71)
Biography
Anna Bayerová was born in 1853 and became one of the first women from her homeland to earn a medical degree, persevering through long study abroad because Czech universities would not admit women. She returned as a physician who cared deeply for women and children, offering competence and empathy in a time of limited options.
She died in 1924 and now rests at Olšany Cemetery, where her legacy endures as a pioneer of medical care and a powerful example of determination.
