Anna Clarkson Bringhurst was born in 1758 and lived during a transformative period in American history. She came of age during the Revolutionary War and witnessed the establishment of the new nation and its institutions.

Bringhurst died in 1813 at the age of fifty-five and was buried at Christ Church Burial Ground in Philadelphia. Her life reflected the experiences of women in early America, and her final resting place honors her memory within the city's historic community.
