Biography

Anna Freud transformed the landscape of psychoanalysis by insisting on the importance of childhood experience in shaping the mind. Her pioneering work in child psychoanalysis, therapeutic education, and resilience in the face of trauma established new standards for psychological care.

She combined scientific rigor with compassion, offering insight into development even in war’s darkest hours, and built institutions that nurtured generations of clinicians. She rests at Golders Green Crematorium as one of modern psychology’s guiding lights.
