Biography
Anna Spitz lived an exceptionally long life, from 1813 to 1899, spanning nearly nine decades of European history. She was a respected elder of Brno's Jewish community, having witnessed the transformations of the nineteenth century.
Spitz's longevity allowed her to serve as a living link to earlier generations of Brno's Jewish life. Her burial in the Jewish cemetery honored her many years of community participation and tradition.
