Biography

Anna Ticknor, gifted educator and writer, founded the Society to Encourage Studies at Home, pioneering distance learning for women and offering structured courses by mail.

She believed in the power of disciplined study for every mind and quietly inspired countless women to continue their learning, and she rests at Forest Hills Cemetery.
