Biography

Anne Antoinette Le Chanteur (1790–1859) lived through one of the most transformative periods in French history. Born during the final years of the ancien régime, she witnessed the Revolution, the Napoleonic era, and the subsequent restoration and development of nineteenth-century France.

Le Chanteur's long life of nearly seventy years allowed her to experience the profound changes that reshaped European society. She was laid to rest at Père Lachaise Cemetery, where she joins countless others who shaped and witnessed the modern French nation.
