Biography
Anne Nicol Gaylor (1926–2015) devoted her life to ensuring women had access to reproductive health care and the right to make personal medical decisions without interference. She co-founded the Freedom From Religion Foundation in 1976, documented the fight for reproductive freedom, and inspired countless activists with her steadfast voice.
Her insistence on secularism and women’s autonomy shaped national conversations and encouraged future generations to keep faith and public policy separate, and friends recall her warmth and wit at Mount Hope Cemetery, where her legacy rests.
