Biography

Anson G. Henry, born in 1804, trained as a physician and became both a trusted healer and a close friend to Abraham Lincoln, tending the president’s health and offering counsel as Lincoln rose in public life.

He carried that spirit of public service westward, helping to oversee the Oregon Territory and remaining a loyal countryman until his final days; today his grave at Odd Fellows Memorial Park and Mausoleum honors that dedication.
