Biography

Antoine Destutt de Tracy (1754–1836) was an influential French philosopher and political theorist who made significant contributions to Enlightenment thought. He developed the theory of ideology and was instrumental in shaping French intellectual discourse during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

De Tracy's philosophical works examined the nature of ideas and their relationship to human knowledge and society. His intellectual legacy influenced subsequent generations of thinkers, and he remained an important figure in French philosophical circles throughout his life. He was honored with burial at Père Lachaise Cemetery.
