Biography

Anton Kartashev (1875–1960) was a Russian historian and religious scholar whose intellectual work examined the complexities of Russian history and Orthodox Christianity. His scholarly contributions provided nuanced analysis of significant historical periods and theological questions.

Kartashev became part of the Russian émigré intellectual community in France following the Russian Revolution. He continued his historical research and writing throughout his life, contributing to the preservation and interpretation of Russian cultural and religious heritage. He was buried at Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois Russian Cemetery, among other distinguished Russian scholars and intellectuals.
