Antoni Vieweger

Biography

Antoni Vieweger (1818–1901) was a distinguished Polish classical philologist whose scholarly expertise enriched the study of ancient languages and texts. His academic career spanned much of the nineteenth century, during which he contributed significantly to philological research and the advancement of classical studies in Poland.

Vieweger's long life and dedication to classical scholarship established him as a respected figure in Polish intellectual circles. He was laid to rest at Powązki Cemetery in Warsaw, a place of honor befitting a scholar whose work preserved and illuminated the classical heritage for future generations.
