Biography

Antonín Jan Jungmann (1775–1854) was a physician who devoted his life to improving public health, practicing both as a caring clinician and a meaningful teacher. He was known for his clear explanations and generous spirit, guiding students at the university level while remaining attentive to the needs of his patients.

Jungmann also contributed to medical literature by promoting accessible terminology in the Czech language, quietly strengthening the bond between science and the people it served before his burial at Olšany Cemetery.
