Ants Nummert earned wide respect as a veterinary scientist, contributing pioneering research that strengthened Estonia’s veterinary medicine and animal welfare practices. His work combined rigorous scholarship with a heartfelt commitment to the animals and communities he served.

Throughout his career, he mentored younger veterinarians and advocated for science-based approaches to animal health, leaving an enduring legacy at the Tartu Uspenski cemetery and within the wider veterinary community.
