Biography

Aram Basmadjian, whose activism was anchored in a deep sense of solidarity, tirelessly defended the rights of immigrants and marginalized workers in Paris until his untimely passing in 1985. He listened more than he spoke, and his empathy turned grassroots assemblies into spaces of hope for families seeking fair treatment.

Though his life was brief, the causes he championed outlived him, inspiring others to continue the work of building inclusive neighborhoods and honoring his memory at Père Lachaise.
