Biography
Archduchess Hermine of Austria (1817–1842) was a member of the House of Habsburg and daughter of Archduke Joseph, Palatine of Hungary. Though her life was brief, she occupied an important position within the imperial family during a formative period in Central European history.
Hermine's early death at the age of twenty-five cut short what might have been a significant role in the political and social life of the Habsburg court. She was interred in the Palatinal Crypt, reflecting her elevated status within the Austrian nobility and her family's deep connections to Hungarian governance.
