Biography
Archduchess Maria Theresa of Austria was born in 1862 into one of Europe's most prominent royal families. As a member of the House of Habsburg, she occupied a significant position in European aristocracy and witnessed the dramatic transformations of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, including the decline of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
The Archduchess spent her final years in Żywiec, Poland, where she passed away in 1933. She was laid to rest at the Co-Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Żywiec, a testament to her connection to the region and her enduring legacy as a member of European nobility.
