Archduke Otto of Austria
1865–1906 (age 41)
Biography
Archduke Otto of Austria, born in 1865, carried the dignity of the Habsburg dynasty into the political life of the empire. Though his station made him a symbol of continuity, he also sought to offer measured counsel on matters of governance and public welfare during a period of rapid change.
He remained mindful of the empire’s diverse peoples and the responsibilities of his family, and he was laid to rest with full honors in the Imperial Crypt, where his lineage is remembered among the princes of Austria.
