Biography

Archimandrite Fotiĭ (1792–1838) was a prominent religious educator and ecclesiastical figure in the Russian Orthodox Church. Based in Veliky Novgorod, he contributed significantly to theological education and religious instruction during the early 19th century.

As an archimandrite, Fotiĭ held a position of considerable authority within the Church hierarchy. His teaching career spanned the reign of Alexander I, a period marked by religious revival and renewed interest in Orthodox theology in Russia.
