Arne Gaardmand
1926–2008 (age 82)
Biography
Arne Gaardmand used his architectural training to design buildings and urban spaces that welcomed gatherings and celebrated clarity of form. He balanced modernist lines with tactile materials so that each structure felt livable rather than imposing.
He mentored young architects and championed public works where people of all ages crossed paths, and his colleagues remember his patient approach to every drafting table sketch; his work is commemorated at Vestre Cemetery.
