Aron Joachim Simon

Biography

Aron Joachim Simon was an active member of Berlin's Jewish community during the early 19th century. He lived through a period of significant change for Jewish residents in Prussia, as legal restrictions gradually gave way to greater civic participation and rights.

Simon's life from 1764 to 1824 placed him at the intersection of the traditional Jewish community and the modern era emerging in Berlin. His burial at the Jüdischer Friedhof Berlin-Mitte attests to his standing within the organized Jewish community of the city.
