Arraminta D. Butterfield, born in 1821, tended to her household and the wider circle of kin with remarkable patience, helping keep the Butterfield lands and traditions alive for later generations.

Her memory is preserved in Old Butterfield Cemetery where descendants gather to recall the tenderness she offered during long seasons of planting, harvest, and celebration.
