Art Neville grew up in New Orleans, absorbing the rhythms of R&B and gospel that shaped him into a keyboardist whose soulful touch anchored The Neville Brothers and earlier helped forge the groundbreaking funk of The Meters.

His work with countless artists and his own recordings brought national attention to the Crescent City sound, yet he remained committed to mentoring younger musicians and championing charitable efforts in his hometown.
