Biography
Arthur Anderson (1792–1868) was a businessperson whose leadership in shipping and Highland commerce helped to expand trade between Scotland and the growing markets of London while setting standards for integrity.
He also supported civic improvements that strengthened the communities he served, and his grave in West Norwood Cemetery marks the resting place of a gentleman devoted to both enterprise and public service.
