Asa Childs, laid to rest in Allegheny Cemetery, witnessed the turn of the eighteenth to the nineteenth century and contributed in ways both seen and unseen to the life of his region.

The steadiness of his character, no doubt shared with family and friends, continues to be celebrated with respect by those who honor his memory.
