Biography

Asahel Perry, born in 1784, was among the earliest settlers to make a home in what became historic Springville, contributing his labor to build roads, erect homes, and establish a thriving agricultural community.

He welcomed new families, shared supplies during harsh seasons, and helped guide the town’s growth through civic service, so that when he died in 1869 the settlement honored him for the firm foundations he had set.
