Biography

Augusta Shuckburgh (1798–1863) was a resident of Bath during the early nineteenth century, a period of significant social and cultural development in the Georgian spa town. She lived through an era of considerable change in British society and maintained connections within Bath's established community.

Shuckburgh's life spanned the Regency and early Victorian periods, witnessing the transformation of Bath from its height as a fashionable resort to a more settled residential town. She was laid to rest in Bath Abbey Cemetery, reflecting her long association with the city and its prominent institutions.
