Biography
Augustin-Théodore Finiels was a French resident of the nineteenth century whose life encompassed much of the century's transformative period. Born in 1798, he lived through the Restoration, the July Monarchy, the Second Empire, and into the early Third Republic.
Finiels's long life of seventy-four years allowed him to witness the profound changes that reshaped French society and politics. He was laid to rest in Père Lachaise Cemetery, the distinguished burial ground of Paris.
