Biography
Barratt O'Hara, born in 1882, rose from his roots in journalism to become a U.S. Representative from Illinois, using his voice in the press and in Congress to champion the needs of working families, veterans, and rural communities.
He continued to write and stay engaged in public affairs well after leaving office, believing that an informed citizenry and thoughtful debate were the strongest foundations for democracy.
