Barry Seals
1939–1986 (age 47)
Pilot and smuggler
Biography
Barry Seals honed his abilities as a pilot during the 1960s, flying for commercial carriers and charter operators while logging thousands of hours over the Americas and earning a reputation for steady hands and calm judgment in demanding situations.
In later years those same skills drew him into sensitive operations that intertwined with covert programs, including smuggling networks, and law enforcement efforts, and his life ended when he was killed while cooperating with investigators; his grave at Greenoaks Memorial Park remains a quiet tribute to a complex career.
