Biography
Bedřich Kalda was born in 1890 in Brno, coming of age during the final years of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He lived through the creation and development of Czechoslovakia, the interwar period, and the upheaval of World War II, experiencing the full arc of twentieth-century Central European history.
Kalda passed away in 1951 at the age of 61. He was buried in Brno Central Cemetery, where he rests as a witness to the profound changes that reshaped his native Moravia throughout his lifetime.
