Ben F. Caldwell

Biography

Ben F. Caldwell (1848-1924) represented Illinois in Congress with an eye toward the needs of farmers and small towns, serving on committees that shaped agricultural and postal policy.

He returned home to Decatur after his terms and remained active in civic associations, the values he espoused remembered by friends who visit Oak Ridge Cemetery.
