Biography
Ben-Zion Israeli (1887–1954) was a botanist who studied the flora of the Land of Israel with a passion for combining rigorous science and a deep appreciation for the region’s natural beauty, often collecting specimens around the Kinneret and encouraging others to know the plants that sustained local life.
Generations of students and amateurs recall his patient guidance, and his memory is honored among the trees of Kinneret Cemetery.
