Benedict Arnold

Biography

Benedict Arnold, born in 1741, gained early distinction in North American conflicts, fighting in the French and Indian War and later rising through the Continental Army as the Revolutionary War began.

After the war he settled in England, serving with the British military and spending his remaining years near Battersea, where his long and complex career is commemorated at St Mary's Church.
