Biography

Benjamin Harrison (1742–1807) belonged to a family dedicated to the colony’s welfare, and he carried forward that tradition through service in the legislature and as a colonel who stood with his friends during trying times. He remained attentive to the lives of his tenants and neighbors while navigating the complexities of the emerging republic.

His resting place at Martin’s Brandon Plantation Cemetery invites reflections on his steady patriotism and the gracious leadership he offered throughout his life.
