Benno Schotz

Biography

Benno Schotz trained as an engineer before immersing himself in sculpture, using his deep understanding of materials to create public monuments, portraits, and abstract forms that grace parks and buildings across the country. He believed that the discipline of engineering could bring clarity to the creative act.

He was generous with apprentices, combining technical advice with personal warmth, and his studio became a place where art and civic pride met; he rests at Har HaMenuchot.
