Biography
Bernard A. Maguire entered the Society of Jesus at a time when higher education was expanding in the young republic, and he devoted his life to teaching, spiritual formation, and two terms guiding Georgetown University with steady devotion.
He sought to weave scholarship, faith, and service together for generations of students, and now rests among his Jesuit brothers at the Georgetown University Jesuit Community Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy of pastoral care.
