Biography

Bernard Bolingbroke Woodward trained in librarianship and antiquarian studies, rising to a role within the British Museum where his knowledge of manuscripts and early printed books enriched public collections and scholarly access.

He also wrote for the People’s Encyclopaedia and other reference works, blending clarity with depth to make history and science approachable, and he sleeps at Kensal Green Cemetery, leaving behind a career devoted to the stewardship of knowledge.
