Biography
Bernard J. Gehrmann grew up among the forests and farms of northern Wisconsin, where he developed a deep sense of responsibility to his neighbors and an abiding belief in the value of public service. Over the decades, he translated that commitment into advocacy for agriculture, education, and rural infrastructure, building a reputation for thoughtful leadership.
In the legislature, Gehrmann worked tirelessly to ensure that the voices of small communities were heard, maintaining a pragmatic approach and steady temperament even in turbulent times. His life’s work remained rooted in a love for the Northwoods and the people who called it home, bringing him peace at Mellen Union Cemetery.
