Biography

Bernardino Fernández de Velasco, 14th Duke of Frías, was a Spanish nobleman and writer of considerable distinction. Born in 1783, he combined his aristocratic heritage with intellectual pursuits, contributing to Spanish letters during the early 19th century through his literary endeavors.

His works reflected the cultural sophistication of the Spanish nobility of his time. He was interred at the Monastery of Santa Clara in Medina de Pomar following his death in 1851, leaving a legacy as both a patron of the arts and a writer of merit.
