Biography

Bernhard Felsenthal gained renown as a Reform rabbi and an influential voice for reasoned faith, helping to establish Chicago's Jewish institutions and advocating for the rights of immigrants and workers in the rapidly changing city. He valued education, temperance, and ethical discourse.

Even after leaving the pulpit, he counselled generations of families and encouraged civic cooperation across religious lines, a legacy remembered at Rosehill Cemetery by those who knew his warmth.
