Bertine Pinckney, born in 1824, was a familiar figure to many who appreciated his calm demeanor and readiness to lend a hand in Prairie Lawn.

Well regarded for the thoughtful counsel he offered to younger neighbors, he continues to be honored in the memories of those who knew him and lies at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
