Biography

Bill Gallo spent more than half a century at the New York Daily News, blending the humor of a cartoonist with the storytelling of a columnist to chronicle sports heroes and neighborhood characters across the city.

He mentored aspiring artists and brought his trademark wit to countless charitable events, leaving a familiar face that New Yorkers continue to remember fondly near Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
