Bob Coulson

Biography

Bob Coulson, born in 1887, patrolled the outfield in the major leagues with sure hands and a steady bat, bringing skill and enthusiasm to teams such as the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Cincinnati Reds. He played at a time when the game valued grit as much as flair, and his teammates admired him for doing the little things that helped a club succeed.

After retirement from baseball he remained a supportive presence in his hometown community, and he was buried at Beallsville Cemetery in 1953, remembered as a player who loved the game and carried himself with quiet professionalism.
