Biography

Bob Sheppard's calm, dignified voice became synonymous with baseball's golden years, as he served for decades as the public address announcer for the New York Yankees while also lending his tone to the New York Giants and Notre Dame football.

His measured introductions reflected a deep respect for the game, and countless players and fans have recalled how his presence elevated every championship and home opener; he lies at Long Island National Cemetery.
